I am really just starting out with Sugar CE (6.0.3) and coming from Vtiger. I am liking what I see so far. I waited for AOS 4.0 before I went to far with transferring over information and such. I D/L the new AOS4 this morning and installed it. When I add a product the Product Code is a drop down containing XXXX or YYYY. Is this something I should be concerned about? Is it just a marker for an automatic entry once the product is saved?

thanks for clearing this up in advance for me.

The product code is to enable organisations to build up product groups so, if you sell thousands of products you can organise them into groups. When you're doing a quote, you can select from product groups as part of the product selection.

To modify this dropdown, goto admin>studio>dropdown editor and edit Name: product_code_dom

That is a great feature. I saw it in AOS 3.0 and thought it was a problem with the version of Sugar I was using. Now with 4.0 it makes it even better

Thanks

Whats the difference between this and category? They both seem to be the same thing.
