Why aren't you a SugarCRM partner?

It's a question we're frequently asked.

Here's how the conversation usually goes:

SugarCRM Sales Rep: "Hi, I'm Josh/Zak/Emily from SugarCRM. I've just started with the EMEA team and I see that you guys do a lot with SugarCRM"

SalesAgility: "Hi Josh/Zak/Emily, good to hear from you. We do do a lot with SugarCRM. How can we help you?"

SugarCRM Sales Rep: "We'd really love to enroll you in our partner program"

SalesAgility: "Cool, what does that mean for us?"

SugarCRM Sales Rep: "Well, you get access to the Professional and Enterprise Editions of SugarCRM and assistance with selling these"

SalesAgility: "Yes, but we're only interested in the Community Edition. We're not interested in selling proprietary software. We're only interested in Open Source and we don't think that the Enterprise or Professional Editions are in the long term best interests of users"

SugarCRM Sales Rep: "So, you wouldn't be interested in selling the Professional or Enterprise versions"

SalesAgility: "No, we'd be interested in joining the Partner Program, but not if it means that we have to sell proprietary software"

SugarCRM Sales Rep: "OK, I'll speak to my manager and we'll see if he would be interested in having a partner who isn't interested in selling our software"

And we don't hear from SugarCRM again for another twelve months or so.
