Is my information secure?

In many ways your data may be more secure using a hosted service than it is when using an in-house service. As a hosted service we absolutely must put data security at the heart of our business.

Data security is about 2 primary issues:

1. Data that is transmitted between you and the server

2. Data that is being stored on a remote server

SalesAgility.com and our hosting partner, Gladserv, have invested heavily to protect data in transmission and in storage:

Data that is transmitted between you and the server

All data that is transmitted can be protected by 128 bit encryption, identical to the methods used by large online retailers to protect your credit card details when shopping on ecommerce Websites. The technology that delivers secure encryption is known as SSL.

SSL or Secure Sockets Layer is a security protocol created by Netscape that has become an international standard on the Internet for exchanging sensitive information between a website and the computer communicating with it, referred to as the client.

Data that is being stored on a remote server

Our choice of hosting partner was largely dictated by the level of security provided.

At the logical level, Gladserv employs sophisticated firewall and state of the art intrusion detection technology to ensure that systems are protected from unauthorised access. At the operating system level, Linux and Apache are configured to maximise security. Additionally, at the database level, each database is protected again by a unique username, unique database name and servername  and a unique password password without which data access is not permitted. Finally, every application user requires a unique user name and password to access the system.

Much thought, time and investment has been given to the security issue.

If you have any lingering concerns, please discuss it with your SalesAgility.com Account Manager.
