Migrating to SugarCRM
Requires careful
Planning and consideration
Migrating to SugarCRM can be a relatively painless process. Much depends on:
- what CRM you are migrating from
- how "clean" your data is
- what your strategic use of CRM is.
What CRM are you migrating from?
SalesForce, Netsuite, ACT, Goldmine, Maximiser and Microsoft Dynamics are the usual suspects.
Recently we've also been doing migrations from SugarCRM Professional to SugarCRM Community Edition - which can be very straightforward as the core data structures and code are identical.
Each migration has its own challenges but we haven't been met with one we haven't been able to do.
How Clean is your data? There is little point in migrating "bad" data and many clients use the migration exercise as an opportunity to increase the quality of data that they store.
This may include de-duplication of records, removal of garbage records, archiving historical records, enhancement of incomplete records and address verification and correction.
We use a variety of tools such as Jitterbit and Talend to transform your data from its current format and load it into SugarCRM. We use the Open Postcode Database to clean UK addresses.
How do you use CRM?
If you have a lot of custom code in your current CRM, it's likely that this will need to be replicated in SugarCRM.
If you're using every function imaginable (workflow, reporting, quotations, contracts etc.), then it's likely that there's more complexity in migrating the data. There will also be more of a training requirement. Again, this is something that we're used to addressing and resolving.
The first step in migrating is to call us for a no obligations discussion on how your data and business processes can be migrated into the award winning SugarCRM.
We don't promise that it will always be easy. But we do promise that you will always get an honest appraisal of the effort involved.
